Construction group buys Carillion’s power business

Engineering and construction group, J Murphy & Sons has acquired Carillion’s former power framework business in an undisclosed deal. The agreement means Murphy takes over Carillion’s position on National Grid’s electricity overhead lines, substation and underground cable framework contracts. Former Carillion employees will transfer across to the group.
