Major cricket matches boost the coffers at Edgbaston
Warwickshire County Cricket Club has reported strong increases in both turnover and earnings with major games such as the inaugural day/night test match in England helping to boost performance.
The year saw Edgbaston Stadium host five matches in the ICC Champions Trophy, the day/night test match against the West Indies and NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day - with record attendances at seveal of these.
For the year to September 30, 2017, these helped to swell overall turnover by 23% to £17.5m and EBITDA rose by 209% to £2.4m.
