Caterpillar creeps in to new offices

Cat Financial

The financial arm of excavator manufacturer Caterpillar has completed the relocation of its UK headquarters to a new base in Solihull.

Caterpillar Financial Services offers finance solutions to the company’s customers and dealers for Caterpillar machinery and engines, solar gas turbines, and other equipment and marine vessels.

It has taken 13,800 sq ft of office space at Friars Gate, having moved from The Phoenix Building at nearby Blythe Valley Park.

The six-figure relocation project was handled by KWB Workplace, part of Birmingham independent commercial property agency KWB. It designed the office space, oversaw the fit out and managed the moving process for the firm.

Russell Arnott, finance director, Cat Financial: “We approached KWB Workplace initially when we knew we needed bigger premises to cope with our business growth.  We had worked with them before when they acquired our Blythe Valley Park offices and they managed the design, fit out and move, so we were confident that we would receive outstanding service.

“We discussed our office needs for the next 10 years and KWB Workplace identified accommodation in and around Solihull which would best meet our requirements.  When we were content with their proposal, they negotiated for and acquired the space at Friars Gate and then managed every element of moving our business until we were settled and happy in our new offices.”

Adrian Southall, director of KWB Workplace, said that for Cat Financial it had ensured the landlord’s refurbishment works were completed to the required specifications and negotiated an early end to the financial firm’s lease at Blythe Valley Park.

KWB Workplace will continue to work with the company to ensure any snags are ironed out.
