Online giant confirms 1,000 job boost

ONLINE shopping giant Amazon has confirmed plans to open a fulfilment centre near Manchester Airport, which will create 1,000 permanent jobs.

The new 654,000 sq ft facility, just off the M56 near Hale Barns, will open in the autumn, the company said. The jobs will be created over three years.

Positions will range from operations managers to engineers, HR and IT roles to order handlers.
