UKFast plugs into The Loop

DATA centre firm UKFast has hooked its four centres up to 50 miles of fibre optic cabling around Manchester known as The Loop.

UKFAST and The Loop, part of the Newbury technology firm Gamma, say the move will increase the high capacity fibre connectivity available to businesses in the city.

The Loop, which offers speeds of one gigabyte per second, was put in the ground ahead of the Commonwealth Games by Atlantic Telecom which went into administration in 2002.
