Latest RBS closures put more than 150 NW jobs at risk
More than 150 jobs are at risk after banking giant RBS announced it was closing 54 branches in England and Wales next January.
The total number of jobs in danger is 258. More than 30 of the branches earmarked for the axe are situated in the North West.
The latest round of closures are in addition to 162 branch closures announced by the bank earlier this year, which will cost 792 jobs.
RBS blamed the latest cull on the collapse of its plans to float off a new "challenger bank" under the name Williams & Glyn.
