Manchester city centre warned to brace itself for 12 months of traffic delays
Major roadworks are expected to cause delays in Manchester city centre for the next 12 months.
The work is being carried out to reduce congestion on the ring road around Manchester and Salford city centres.
The work will start at the end of August and commuters are warned to prepare for the worst.
Once completed the works will increase capacity at six key road junctions along what is known as the Manchester-Salford Inner Relief Route – reducing congestion and delays and improving air quality.
