David Prendergast

Fast-growing building services company Thermotech Group is moving to a new head office on the back of continued growth in its customer base and employee numbers.

The company, which provides a host of bluechip retailers and corporates with fire protection, air conditioning and mechanical services, is backed by Foresight Group, the leading infrastructure and private equity investment manager.

In 2016, Thermotech acquired air conditioning specialist Oakwood Technology Group and the relocation to the new 6,000sq ft offices at Hercules Park, Cheadle, Greater Manchester will bring the enlarged team together under one roof for the first time.

Chief executive Dave Prendergast said: “It’s an exciting time for our business – we’ve seen very strong growth in the last couple of years and expect to hit £20m turnover this year and to reach 100 employees in the next few months, which is a significant milestone for us.

“We are passionate about creating a best-in-class company, offering our clients an excellent and seamless service is vital. The integration of our service teams in the new office will support this.

“While organic growth prospects are strong – thanks to the large number of recommendations we enjoy – we are also on the look-out for acquisitions to further strengthen our range of Thermotech operates nationally providing fire protection and HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) service & maintenance and system design & installation for clients including Marks & Spencer, Next, John Lewis and Waitrose and a large portfolio of commercial offices and shopping centres.”

Prendergast said the company, which currently employs 87 people, expects to hit 100 soon, due to ongoing recruitment of project managers, office support and mobile service engineers.

He went on: “We are continuing to win national contracts with retailers throughout the UK and are also installing HVAC, M&E and fire protection systems to a variety of sites including biomass plants, commercial offices, sheltered housing and high rise apartment developments.”

James Livingston, partner at Foresight and a non-executive director at Foresight Group added: “It is great to see Thermotech powering into 2018 with such impressive momentum and congratulate Dave and the team for continuing to execute the strategic growth plan.”
