People on the move: Harrison Drury; Galliford Try Partnerships; Savills

North West law firm Harrison Drury has appointed Tracey McCambridge to lead its residential property team in Preston.

McCambridge, who has more than 25 years’ experience in buying and selling residential properties, joins the team from Slater and Gordon.

Harrison Drury’s residential property team is part of the firm’s home and family division, which advises clients on a range of personal legal matters, including estate planning, probate and family law.

Duncan Rawlinson, director at Harrison Drury and head of the home and family division, said: “Our residential property team has grown significantly and we’ve seen a real increase in demand for our services this year.

Housing and regeneration specialist Galliford Try Partnerships has strengthened its North West team with six new appointments as well as a senior promotion.

Following four years working with a housing developer in London, Riaz Bapu moved back to the North West last year and joins the company as a quantity surveyor.

Joseph Campbell, who started his career in building surveying, joins as an assistant quantity surveyor along with Jack Donald. Donald has experience of working on a variety of projects including schools, leisure centres, commercial offices as well as residential housing.

Callum Short has joined the department as a graduate quantity surveyor and is currently studying for his Masters at Salford University.

Another new starter building their career at Galliford Try Partnerships is Tom Pepper. He spent time gaining work experience at the company during the summer holidays, but his commitment and enthusiasm has resulted in him now becoming a permanent member of staff.

Sara Stewart, who originally joined the company in a temporary position, is now a buying assistant in a permanent role. Once she has completed her HNC, Stewart will be able to progress to become a fully qualified buyer.

As well as the new appointments, Martin Opara who started working at Galliford Try Partnerships in February 2016 has been promoted to managing surveyor.

International real estate advisor Savills has expanded its property management team with five new recruits, who will be based in Manchester.

The additional roles take Savills’ total property management head count in Manchester to 26.
Associate director Carl Clark, who previously worked at MJ Mapp, brings with him more than 20 years of management experience.

Chartered surveyor Michael Slaven, formerly of Capita Real Estate, has also worked in property management for more than two decades.

Additionally, Savills has welcomed surveyor Matt Thompson, who will specialise in the management of out of town retail schemes. Graduate surveyors Rafi Islam and Grace Bird-Jones have also joined the team.

Richard Morris, property management director at Savills Manchester, said: “We are very pleased to be welcoming Carl, Michael, Matt, Rafi and Grace to the team as Savills property management division continues to go from strength to strength, both in Manchester and nationally.”
