Transport advice for Open Golf at Hoylake

THE Highway Agency is advising motorists to leave extra time for journeys when the Open Golf championshiip returns to Hoylake on the Wirral next month.

Last time the Royal Liverpool Golf Club at Hoylake hosted the event, in 2006, 230,000 spectators attended, generating an estimated £75m for the local economy.

With similar numbers of spectators expected for the Open this year, which is taking place between July 13 and July 20, transport chiefs are urging advanced planning.
